What is it all about?
Hypnotherapy is now recognised as powerful tool to create change to well established habits, dis-empowering emotions and limiting beliefs. Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation with heightened focused awareness. It falls between full conscious awareness and sleep, you remain in control at all times. All hypnosis is Self-hypnosis no one can make you do anything you do not want to do. Therapy is about helping you to achieve the changes you want for your life.
Yes, but how does it work?
Hypnotherapy bypasses the conscious, thinking mind and communicates with the sub-conscious mind which is the part of us where change happens. The human mind can be compared to an iceberg with the visible tip being the conscious mind and the invisible mass being the sub-conscious mind.
The conscious mind is what you actively think and analysis with all day long. The sub-conscious mind is both your source of creativity, memories, beliefs, wisdom and habits. When there is conflict between the conscious and sub-conscious mind the sub-conscious mind always wins. The sub-conscious mind is the seat of your emotions and nearly all of your behaviour is directed by our thoughts, emotions and beliefs. When we change our thoughts we change our world.
What is the success rate?
There are no guarantees in life, apart from death and taxes. Do we expect our Doctor to give us a guarantee when we go for help? Having said that you do expect to come away feeling better than when we went in and that is almost always the case when working with a therapist of your choice. Things which you thought might be so difficult may now seem easy and that is a breakthrough in its own way.
Will I know what is going on?
Yes, you will feel very relaxed, yet be able to move or get up at any time you wish. However, you are unlikely to want to until the end of the session. You may find that your conscious mind is not paying attention to every word the therapist’s says all of the time but your sub-conscious mind will. However, you will remember clearly what was said during two way communications.
What happens during a session?
A typical hypnosis client is a well-functioning person who just wants to change or improve something in their life, but hasn’t been able to make that change successfully on their own.
My role is to help you feel comfortable and safe as we work together to remove limiting beliefs and move you toward greater success, happiness, and fulfilment in your life.
YOUR FIRST SESSION
Your first session will begin with a discussion regarding the subconscious motivators of your behaviour. We then actively work together to develop a new strategy for change, with the ultimate goal being a new automatic habit or perspective on old issues to replace the one that is simply not working for you.
Following a thorough evaluation, I will guide you into a comfortable, hypnotic state using inductions, deepening techniques, accessing your subconscious mind clearing old blockages then using visualization, imagery, and post-hypnotic suggestions in order to help you become receptive to the new strategy.
In the sessions that follow, we will evaluate the behavioural changes that occurred. We will then access your subconscious changes further to reinforce the new behaviour as well as help you learn to redirect your mind to even greater states of positive potential.

Therapy is not an exact science as everyone is different. However, we all like to know what something is going to cost, including an investment in our own well-being. At the end of an initial free consultation and before therapy begins we shall agree together on a course of action and a price.
